Filing of Petitions
Petitions may be filed in the office, or can be sent by mail or email. If the child is in immediate danger or harm, you must call in a CPS referral to 1 (877) 237-0004 and have the referral number along with the emergency petition.
If you are filing an unruly petition, the Juvenile Court will make a referral to the Department of Children Services. Juvenile Court also strongly encourages families to access their insurance for help before filing an unruly petition. If you are filing a delinquent petition, this court will need to be notified by phone of the police report number and schedule an appointment with Lori Worster, Vincent Morgano or Mallory Jennings prior to coming to our office.
Please note that handwritten filings will not be accepted. All filings will need to be typed.
JUVENILE COURT CAN NOT GIVE OUT LEGAL ADVICE AND STRONGLY SUGGESTS HIRING AN ATTORNEY FOR ALL PETITIONS REGARDING CUSTODY, DEPENDENCY NEGLECT, ETC.
